What you can contribute • Responsibility for the production of fungal and viral inoculum in sufficient quantity and quality for prebreeding • Development, adaptation, and implementation of protocols for the characterization, isolation, and multiplication of pathogens • Supporting the scientific manager of pathology/prebreeding in carrying out projects related to wheat diseases, in particular the infection and annotation of varieties as part of the selection program • Participation in molecular marking for the tracing of disease resistance genes / Characterization of fungal isolates • Regular maintenance and propagation of plant and fungal material collections to ensure their long-term preservation What makes you unique • Technician with a Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC) in a technical field or equivalent, highly motivated with experience in the field of plant pathology (higher education from a university of applied sciences would be an asset) • Excellent technical skills in handling plant pathogens • Ability to work in different environments (field, greenhouse, laboratory) • Experience in molecular biology desirable • Positive, performance-oriented personality with good team spirit • Very good knowledge of two official languages and English, both spoken and written Good nutrition, healthy environment Agroscope is the Swiss federal government's center of expertise for research in the fields of agriculture and the food industry.
